June is a wonderful month for mobile home holidays in Italy. The weather is mid-way between relaxed and easy on the sweat glands, yet you get plenty of sunbathing on the private beach and in Siesta time, you may even run for the shade to cool down. The site is also in a transitional state.
The week of the May bank holidays is a child friendly free for all at Union Lido, with many families enjoying a fantastic week of family time fun at Union Lido, with the kids clubs, the inflatable bouncy castle world full and the beach awash with beach balls, lilo's and the cheerful hum of children having a great time.Once this week passes, the site takes on a different atmosphere, many of the children back at school now, the site has more of an adult holiday feel to it. Perfect for couples looking to enjoy a relaxing holiday break in Italy.
Leave the kids at home in June with grandparents, nannies or close friends and get yourself on an even cheaper flight out from the UK to Marco Polo near Venice or Treviso airport. From there, a quick taxi or a couple of easy to catch buses and you arrive at Union Lido.
Welcome to Union Lido in June, a place where your time is your own, either in a mobile home or a caravan. The accommodation is just a small portion of the holiday as you will spend most of your time out and about, using the pools, the beach, the park activities, the restaurants, bars, cafes, supermarkets, shops, markets... to be honest the list becomes slightly endless when it comes to Union Lido.

Latest 2010: W10 Leisure Building at Union Lido
The W10 building was opened this past week at Union Lido. The new eco-friendly sanitary block is the first of its kind in Europe and will no doubt set the benchmark once again for on-site park facilities. We received new photographs from the park, taken over the weekend (14th / 15th May) and as you can see, this new block is both aesthetically pleasing and extremely functional and interactive. See the technology involved below and click on each photograph for a larger version. Union Lido remains a front runner for mobile home and caravan holidays in Italy.

Nearing completion is the new exciting water slide at the Aqua Park Laguna swimming pool complex at the Union Lido holiday park in Italy. As you can see from the photographs below, it's going to be a twisty splashing good ride! Those taking children out to Italy for the May bank holidays will find the slide up and running, or should we say sliding? Have a look at the pictures and start getting your children and grandchildren excited!

Amani For Africa
Amani whose meaning in Kiswahili is peace, is a lay voluntary movement, inspired and founded by Father Renato Kizito Sesana, a combonian missionary.
Amani is a non-government organization, acknowledged by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Amani is particularly concerned with helping African populations following these two basic rules:
1. Supervising the development of a restricted number of projects, so as to continue being a completely voluntary organization and to limit costs to be supported by contributors.
2. Entrusting each project and each event carried out on African soil solely and exclusively to locals. In confirmation of this is the fact that many of Amani's interventions have been inspired by a group of young Africans gathered together in the community of Koinonia.
The main activities of Amani are: the two emergency centres for the street children of Nairobi: Kivuli Centre and Anita's Home; Mthunzi Centre a project for the street children of Lusaka in Zambia; the defence of the Nuba people in Sudan, who are victim of a real genocide.

1200 Miles in a Fiat 500l for Charity
The Fiat Run is a drive of a lifetime in my Classic Fiat 500 dating from 1968 and we are trying to raise valuable funds towards this lifesaving service both in Britain and Italy. The journey will include a visit to the 500’s birthplace, Turin and then on to Venice.
Meet Custard – she’s my lovingly restored 1968 Fiat 500L.
We met a few years ago when I found her abandoned in a farmer’s field in Cavallino in Italy and even though she looked far from her best,
it was love at first site.
Several hundred Lira lighter and a long tow back to England later, Custard arrived at my home in Huby, North Yorkshire where she has since been transformed into the classic show car you see today. She is quite rare and unbelievably cute so everywhere we go people want to pet her.
Since her restoration, Custard has appeared at many Classic Car shows in Yorkshire and gained awards Cavallino in Italy. In 2008 she was on show at a Fiat showroom for the launch of the new generation of Fiat 500’s.
Starting from North Yorkshire the little Fiat will make its way down England to Dover where the Channel crossing will be to Calais and the start of the European journey
Out of France into Belgium the Walloon Region and to Luxembourg. Back into France to Stasbourg across the Rhine into Germany to Switzerland.
After Lucerne we head over the famous Gotthard Pass 2109 metres above sea level. Then down hill to Italy. Around Milan and to Turin her place of her birth.
From Turin its across the Autostrada via Brescia To Venezia and our finishing post in Cavallino.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity's two helicopters provide a rapid-response life-saving service covering the whole of Yorkshire To keep these helicopters flying costs the Charity £7200 each day.
The quicker a patient receives medical attention after injury, the greater their chances of survival So your donation really will help to save lives.

We are also raising money for the air ambulance in Italy wherever our Fiat is on show.

Appearing at Camping Marjal on Friday Feb 5th and Saturday Feb 6th, Pure Presley will be swinging his hips and taking you back through the musical career of Elvis Presley. The Elvis tribute artist kicks off the evening 19:30 and the price for a ticket is 13 Euros which includes a meal and a drink along with a fantastic evening of pure entertainment.

We are pleased to announce that Bolero Holidays has utilised the latest technology to create a website that works well on Firefox, IE7+, Safari and many more browsers and now works very well on your iPhone. Using our new friend 'phelix' you can view our website without worrying where to size the screen to as the whole website will adjust itself for your iPhone.
The menu will be set alongside the sidebar in two handy tabs at the top for you to open, leaving complicated scrolling and finger twitching zooming in and out in the past!
Even if our photographs are too big on the page, clever little 'phelix' will size them down so that you can see them easily!
We are proud to be using technology built for the iPhone and no doubt in the future, this technology will be adapted for all the other touch screen phones!

Union Lido received another well recognised award by Alan Rogers (Top guide in Great Britain, Ireland, Germany & Holland for high quality campsites) - Alan Rogers has been commending Union Lido on their holiday park since 1968, always offering flattering assessments.
During the Exposition in Utrecht, they assigned Union Lido the "Family Campsite Award 2009"
Union Lido was also nominated by Dutch company (ANWB) to be "Camping van het jaar 2009" due to their luxury accommodation and they have re-confirmed Union Lido's rightful position in the prestigious "Euro Top Campings for 2010"

It's colourful, it's exciting and children flock to it like snails to a patio on a wet day. Morbidosi might sound like a Saturday morning cartoon villian but as you can see from the photographs, this adventure inflatable park at Union Lido it's anything but. There is a small entrance fee, but the smile on your childs face is worth it. Enjoy the small gallery!!
