Monday 16th September plays host to September Fest at Cantinetta Lispida from 20.00. Guests can experience ‘Anatra col pien’ which is a stuffed duck with baked potatoes, accompanied by music, and finished with a grand toast towards the end of the evening.
On Thursday 13th September, the weekly Union Lido Shopping Centre Market Street will be in full swing from 19.00, selling artistic Italian crafts, local delicacies and on trend fashion across numerous stalls.
On Friday, the children (and young at heart) can enjoy the magical and mischievous talents of the Clown Crostini Show at the Amphitheatre from 20.30.

Monday 27th saw host to the Beach on Fire firework spectacular, a festival of lights that showcase the choreographed talent across the Adriatic coastline along the peninsular, once experienced, forever remembered.
On Tuesday 28th you’ll find the Union Lido Talent Show taking place at the Amphitheatre, fun for all the family and a chance for you and your children to shine in the spotlight!
For the culinary inclined, on Thursday the 30th at Ca’Rustica near Aqua Laguna, you’ll be able to experience the Brazilian Dinner with a showcased talent of food including a churrasco mixed grill, served on the terrace above the Cavanna.
On Friday 31st, The Grape Festival takes place during the afternoon, and into the evening at Piazza Venezia, where children can participate in country games alongside the Union Lido animation team, including grape pressing and tasting sessions!

Tuesday 21st sees the Union Lido Ping Pong championship taking place at the Activity park from 16.00!

New 'Galleon' ride at Union Lido's Funnyworld Theme Park

Funnyworld is Union Lido’s own theme park, nestled close to the main shopping arcade, you can embark on multiple thrill rides, from rollercoasters, to gravity defying reverse bungie seats, a log flume and plenty of arcade games, mini-golf and smaller rides for younger children to enjoy.
In 2018, Union Lido are introducing ‘Speedy Boat’ Galleon ship which swings back and forth, adding even more fun to the Union Lido experience!

Union Lido has just announced that they will be exercising a smoking ban on the Union Lido beach, following new information provided by the Ministry of Health.
This is yet another fantastic improvement by Union Lido, focusing on the environment and the wellbeing of all it’s customers.
The Union Lido lifeguards will be on duty to supervise this new ruling.

New Beach playground for 2018

In 2018, the beach (which is already a fantastic location at Union Lido) is set to improve once more, adding a new playground for the children, expanding their already impressive beach facilities and activities.
As you can see on the image above, the new playground will be located close to the Aqua Marino swimming pool complex, which is also close to the Bolero accommodation, giving quick and easy access to the beach and this playground. Perfect for families wanting the beach, and for kids who love to be active whilst playing on the beach!
As Union Lido unveils more information on this new project, we will provide you with updates.
As you can see on the image above, the new playground will be located close to the Aqua Marino swimming pool complex, which is also close to the Bolero accommodation, giving quick and easy access to the beach and this playground. For 2018, the Tiki water slide at Aqua Laguna is being upgraded to include 2 new additional waterslides, providing more options for those who enjoy the feeling of liquid speed! Choose from 5 unique slides at the top of the tiki tower, each waterslide offering a thrill ride from start to finish on your 2018 Union Lido and Bolero holiday!

New Sorrento Mobile Homes Installed!

Yesterday we posted some photographs of the new Bolero Sorrento mobile homes being expertly lifted through the trees of the Union Lido holiday park, and today we can confirm the new mobile homes are sited and now awaiting their hand-crafted decking to be added in the new year.
They will then wait patiently to welcome you during the 2018 Bolero holiday season at Union Lido!
We wish to thank the team of experts at Union Lido for their precision work, guiding and siting the new mobile homes!

On the 28th June 2017, Union Lido will play host to it’s younger guests, by staging a giant pasta party with games and fun events for all involved. At 3pm, in partnership with the Volunteer Firemen, an inflatable assault course will be present, including other fun games for the children to enjoy.
At Piazza Lido, The ‘Bobby Live Show’, ‘Mini Disco’ and ‘Bubble Show’ will take place, and later in the evening from 7pm the Pizza-Pasta party will start, and all proceeds will be donated to the ‘Città della Speranza’ children’s charity.
The grand finale will be a giant balloon launch from Piazza Lido!

Cavallino Pailo Race 2017

Sunday 18th June 2017 marks the 18th edition of the world famous Palio Remiero delle Contrade of Cavallino-Treporti.
The challenge is simple: The market traders of Sant’Erasmo, Cavallino and Vignole will row their boats in a race to the Rialto market, hoping to be the first there to serve their fresh produce first to get the best position and sales possible!
This traditional race is ran every year and attracts thousands to the area, taking photos of the brightly coloured boats as they race towards the finish line.

New Cavallino bus service includes ferry information

The 23D bus running from Lido di Jesolo to Punta Sabbioni now includes information on the ferries heading to the islands of Burano, Murano and Torcello. The islands, which were used to name some of the Bolero Holidays accommodation at Union Lido, offer a unique view of Italian life, with Burano offering multicoloured homes, set amongst quiet canals, where historical lace making still stands as one of proudest exports of this truly magnificient island.
Visit Murano where you’ll find the worlds best glass blown items, some on display, others available to purchase. Finally Torcello, the smallest of the three islands boasts the oldest church in the region, along with a peaceful garden walk, cafe and ancient stone seat many have used to propose marriage, or grab a quick selfie!

The public bus transport system operating to and from the Union Lido holiday park is known as ATVO and many Bolero customers now use the public transport system to travel, so we have collected the latest timetables and edited them slightly to help should you choose to use this option for your 2017 Bolero Holiday.

For those arriving in Italy by flight, at either Treviso airport or Marco Polo, the new 2017 Express bus service, travelling to/from both airports and passing Union Lido is now available to view. They have added a few more buses to this route to cope with demand, and hopefully for those using the public transport system, this will come in handy!

Union Lido Receives 2017 ADAC Award

Union Lido has been awarded with the 2017 ADAC prize for the Best Campsite in Italy. ADAC is a German automobile club, which was founded in 1903 and not only provides information on the best places to visit around Europe, they also provide 44 air ambulance helicopters for urgent medical rescues in Germany.
Having over 18 million members, including 1.5 million motorcyclists, making it the largest motorbike association in the world, the prestigious award certifies Union Lido’s standing as the Best Campsite in Italy, and possibly Europe! (We may be a little bias!)

We have a job opportunity for holiday campsite courier / children’s courier to complete our 2017 Bolero Holidays team at the Union Lido holiday park in Italy. Are you that last team member? Working with Bolero Holidays at Union Lido in Italy is not just a job but a chance to be part of one of the most successful companies on the number one campsite in Europe and the first five star campsite in Italy. Within 200 yards of the beach and with numerous bars, restaurants and on-site entertainment available daily, not only will you be part of a well respected and recognised company at Union Lido, you will get to enjoy the facilities on the best campsite in Europe.
We are looking for hard-working and friendly couriers to work in a team promoting excellent customer services.
You should liaise with the site manager and other couriers when any help is necessary to maintain the accommodation at a high standard. All pots/ pans/cooking equipment must be totally clean, under beds dust free, pillows and bedcovers totally clean and dry and tables/chairs/parasols cleaned and checked for damage.
Any equipment which needs replacing should be reported to the campsite manager.
On changeover days you will be expected to greet the incoming holidaymakers when requested by the campsite manager. The general wellbeing of the holidaymaker is a joint responsibility between all couriers with each courier doing their utmost to co-ordinate with each other to create a happy ambience.
You will be responsible for all of the equipment provided for you. Consumable items must be re-ordered by yourself by direct contact with campsite manager. The equipment used and the kids club gazebo has to be kept clean and safe at all times and this is your total responsibility. On your day off, the club activities have to be organised in advance and agreed with the campsite manager.
The holiday season at Union Lido runs from May until September and the team normally work from March till October so we need you to be flexible with dates and happy to work abroad for an extended period of time.
Good communication, common sense, patience and a happy friendly personality is what our customers enjoy the most and what we expect from all candidates.

We have the opportunity for a hard working individual to join our company as a general & children’s holiday courier for the 2017 Bolero holiday season, living and working on a holiday park near Venice in Italy, starting in March 2017 until October 2017. MAIN COURIER DUTIES
The main duty of campsite representatives is to liaise with each other, under the guidance of the campsite manager, in order to maintain high standards of accommodation, general help and guidance for the holidaymakers. CHILDREN’S COURIER DUTIES
Your duty is to organise and plan the daily children's club and liaise with the campsite manager on the required plan of events which will operate for two hours in the morning Monday to Thursday. It is expected that you will be able to compile a full programme based over a two week period in order to entertain the children aged 4-14. You are responsible for all the children in your care. A register has to be operated to confirm the attendance of each child and it is your duty that each child is safe within the activity which they are carrying out.You will be responsible for all of the equipment provided for you. GENERAL CAMPSITE DUTIES
When not actively cleaning the equipment, you will be expected to help in the general running of the site. You will be expected, at the discretion of the campsite manager, to help on a rota system with the reception area. This will include providing information to holidaymakers, booking in and out various hire equipment, and dealing with general enquiries.EVENING ENTERTAINMENT
Evening entertainment is a necessary part of the Bolero holiday and you will be asked to help as and where necessary by the campsite manager, this is usually a weekly BBQ night You will also be asked to help with cleaning/tidying of the entertainment area after the BBQ night under the supervision of the campsite manager.KNOWLEDGE IS KEY

Another big announcement from Union Lido for 2017, a new disco bar / party room for all ages, open till late.
From Union Lido directly: "New Disco Empire: Party room, events and more, organized by Union Lido, disco after 11.00 pm. For teenagers, over 60, and the whole family”
The Pina Colada disco bar replaces the old Empire nightclub across the road from the holiday park. Union Lido have recently purchased the venue, which further extends their appeal to those who love disco and late night dancing.
This also gives the park greater control over loud music, ensuring noise levels are reduced after 11pm. This is another positive step Union Lido has taken to provide more consideration for families with younger children.

The Sorrentos Have Landed!

We are pleased to let everyone know that the new Bolero Holidays Sorrento luxury 3 bedroom mobile homes have arrived at Union Lido and are being sited now. As you can see from the images below, the process to get the mobile homes into place is a slow delicate operation, ensuring the new mobile home carefully passes between the trees via crane, before gently being placed down into position.
We will upload some more photos when all the mobiles homes are in place.

Airport to Union Lido Direct Bus 2016

We have received a copy of the new 2016 ATVO direct bus service from both Treviso Airport & Marco Polo to Union Lido. You can view / download the new timetable now and hopefully it helps with your 2016 Bolero Holiday plans.
Single tickets are €11.50 and return tickets are €21.00 (but please check that you can return at the end of your holiday as previous rules with return tickets state you must use it within 3 days of purchase)
Also, when boarding the bus, please state to the driver your destination ‘Camping Union Lido’ so that you ensure they will stop en-route to the ferry port of Punta Sabbioni.

The public bus transport system operating to and from the Union Lido holiday park is known as ATVO and many Bolero customers now use the public transport system to travel, so we have collected the latest timetables and edited them slightly to help should you choose to use this option for your 2016 Bolero Holiday.
A. Marco Polo Airport > Union Lido
When you arrive at Marco Polo airport, you can purchase a ticket from the airport and collect the bus outside. The timetable below shows you the times the bus picks up from the airport and drops off at Lido di Jesolo (main bus station)1. The Aqua Park Mare has received a new addition to the shallow waters play area for the children. A new playfort with slides, bridges and fun for all the children to enjoy! We have some photos here to show you the new addition. At the time of taking the photos, the pool itself had been drained which is why you won’t see any water, but rest assured, it will be ready for you when you arrive this holiday season at Union Lido. Just for fun, we’ve used a photo technique to see how the world of Union Lido might look if it was built as a scale model for amusement. As you can see, it would still be just as much fun to enjoy Union Lido even as a miniature toy village, visiting the pool complexes, the beach and even as far as Venice! Union Lido have provided us with an image to show the new planned wave pool extension for Aqua Park Laguna this coming holiday season. As you can see, the new attraction will be placed alongside the current pool complex. We are sure this new addition to the holiday park in Italy will further enhance your holiday enjoyment!

The latest addition to the Union Lido holiday park in Italy, will be a new wave pool for adults and children. This new attraction will feature two pools with a constant wave action, designed to mimic a real wave beach experience! Perfect when the Adriatic is just too calm when you want to wave hop!

A common question asked of Bolero is '
Where are you on the holiday park?' and it's a valid one as too near a main road and vehicle noise could affect your sleep, or too close to the beach and mermaids might kidnap you…Maybe the last one might be more of a wish, but knowing where your holiday accommodation is helps to know how far the main attractions are from your holiday doorstep.
To help, we have added our logo to the main Union Lido map which will show you where
to find us at Union Lido. Just click on the map below to view the fullsize version, and you will see we are almost in the centre of the holiday park.
To help identify this a little better, you can use our Google VR tour to take a 'Virtual Walk' around a mobile home, venture out to the reception office and even down to the beach.
This VR tour will give you an accurate representation of our location and it will help you judge the distance from your holiday accommodation to the private beach.

30 Years Memorabilia - Bolero Holidays

Tuesday 12th May 2015 saw the weekly Bolero BBQ night, and as this was the day after Bolero turned 30, we celebrated with our holidaymakers and enjoyed music, good food and of course… cake at Union Lido.
Bolero was presented with a custom card made out of an old 1989 Bolero welcome letter which was signed by all those who share their May holiday with Bolero each year, some for the past 23 years!. We are so touched to have been given such a special card and be surrounded by such special friends, thank you very much.

We are very excited to announce the new additions to the Bolero Family! We decided to replace all of our remaining two bedroom Murano mobile homes with new versions for 2015! They are still a two bedroom model, ideal for a maximum of 4 persons or less, but now they compliment our Torcello and Venezia mobile homes, lending a familiar feel across our entire range of accommodation at Union Lido.

Travelling to Union Lido by Public Transport

One of the many questions new customers ask Bolero is how to travel to Union Lido using the public transport system from Marco Polo Airport or Treviso airport, and how easy and feasible is it?.
Please read below, our simple guide on how to travel to Union LIdo by public transport when landing at either Marco Polo or Treviso airport.

When you arrive at Treviso Airport:
Take the number 6 bus to Treviso bus station or take a taxi to Treviso bus station.
The bus journey takes approximately 15 minutes, whilst the taxi about 10 minutes.
If you purchase your bus ticket at the airport, the cost is €1,20 - If you purchase the ticket on board the bus, it is €2.50

The approximate cost for the entire journey by bus is: €18 per person (2013 prices)
During the holiday season this year, you could catch a direct bus from Treviso airport to Lido de Jesolo at 10.45 every morning. This service may be running each year, but we cannot guarantee this.
It is best to visit www.atvo.it to find out more about the timetables and pricing.
For the return journey, it must be noted that in order to reach the airport in the designated two hour check-in time, early morning flights would be better reached by taxi and not public transport. For flights departing in the afternoon, this method of journey would be suitable as the first bus leaving Lido de Jesolo bound for Treviso is at 08.20 in the morning (earliest you could arrive at Treviso airport would be around 10.00am)

During the holiday season this year, you could catch a direct bus from Treviso airport to Lido de Jesolo at 10.45 every morning. This service may be running each year, but we cannot guarantee this.
It is best to visit www.atvo.it to find out more about the timetables and pricing.
For the return journey, it must be noted that in order to reach the airport in the designated two hour check-in time, early morning flights would be better reached by taxi and not public transport. For flights departing in the afternoon, this method of journey would be suitable as the first bus leaving Lido de Jesolo bound for Treviso is at 08.20 in the morning (earliest you could arrive at Treviso airport would be around 10.00am)

April 2013 - New Staff Mobile Homes @ Union Lido

For 2013, we upgraded the staff into their own Murano mobile home, complete with wooden terrace. We also decided to create a double canopy across two units so the staff can enjoy a social area under some cool shade in the midday sun. You may also notice the new Bolero Holidays storage tent on your travels around the site.

Amy, Tom & Hannah join Bob, Helen, Margaret and John with Bolero Holidays this 2013 holiday season at Union Lido in Italy, and they all look forward to meeting you. Bolero veterans Ken and Tom have given their time to help prepare the units (and catch a little of the Italian sun too) and Mike and his team from MSC Leisure Decking once again provide the new wooden terraces for our mobile homes.

The team in Italy have been busy working to prepare all the accommodation for the start of the new 2013 season in a weeks time!

We also have new subtle gas bottle covers, and we are pleased with the new side paving, added to enhance your Italy holiday home.

Whilst we were unable to include all the languages in our large brochure (mainly because it would struggle to fit through a letterbox) , we have created a small brochure which will be available at Union Lido for our European cousins.
This brochure highlights information about Bolero, talks about our accommodation and provides the prices and discount info needed in order to (hopefully) fall in love with a Bolero Holiday. New Mobile Homes at Union Lido

Our team flew out to Union Lido last week to begin preparations for the arrival of the new three bedroom mobile home units, arriving this week. We thought it might be nice for you to see what the park was in like in late Septemeber, early October last year when we began moving the replaced two bedroom mobile homes off their pitches.
As you can see, the floral coverage from the trees cast quite a shadow over the ground, and the falling leaves made it perfect for jumping in them!
The image above shows the mobile home row, where opposite, all the older two bedroom homes have been removed, off to enjoy their service on another park in Italy.
We all made sure to wave goodbye to each and every mobile home that left us that day, a small tear shed in their honour for their service to providing quality accommodation to our guests.
We all ended up drawing straws over who raked up the leaves. You can see that none of the mobile homes have their canopies, these are all dismantled for the winter and placed into storage to keep them safe.

Every 3 years the Union Lido crew cut back the tress to allow more direct sunlight onto each of the plots. By May, these trees will have bloomed into a more attractive sight! We are happy to provide more sunlight which means less need to shuffle yourself around to follow the sun!

After listening to feedback in 2011, we decided to replace 14 of our two bedroomed mobile homes with this new model to allow mid sized families to spread themselves out better and allow smaller families to enjoy the extra space without upgrading to the larger Torcello mobile home.
The Bolero Venezia was designed with these principles in mind and now helps bridge the gap for any family wanting to enjoy more living space at Union Lido.

Anyone who knows Center Parcs will understand the concept: comfortable, well-appointed cabins for accommodation, eating places and amenities on site and a safe environment for the children. Union Lido is that and more – much more. Not for nothing has it regularly won awards as Europe’s best campsite. It’s been going a long time – since 1955, in fact – and in that time it has been improved continually in a striving for perfection. Within its square mile or so are shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants, a heated outdoor swimming pool complex, holiday chalets, spacious camping areas and a kilometre of magnificently maintained beach with the sort of sand children love to dig into. The Adriatic Sea in summer is like a warm bath.
And that’s only scratching the surface. The whole place has a sense of organisation and order that makes it stand out from the rest. There are beautifully tended flower beds, spacious avenues where the trees form an arch overhead, fish-and-turtle-filled ponds spanned by Japanese-style bridges, fountains and even a quiet woodland area that feels like part of an English forest. The entire site is run along eco-friendly lines and is spotlessly clean and tidy, while all staff are approachable and friendly. Many speak good English, though they respond with particular warmth if you try even a few words of basic Italian.
The sense of order extends to the way guests are expected to behave. This is not one of those “anything goes” sites where beer-swilling, drunken parties are the order of the day. Guests are expected to respect each other’s right to a peaceful holiday and there are strict rules about quiet times being observed. This works to everyone’s benefit and a good night’s sleep is possible without the interruption of rowdy behaviour. It also makes it safer for children.
Many people come by car and there is plenty of space for them to be parked alongside tents and caravans without making the place look like a glorified car park. There are clear rules about where and when cars can move on or off the site, so pedestrians are never inconvenienced.
There’s even a doctor on site, provided free of charge (though they suggest a one-euro donation towards medical research).
A wide range of entertainment is provided. Forget people in red coats trying to whip up enthusiasm in unwilling campers. The entertainments here range from classical music concerts to lavishly produced musical shows and rock concerts, all given under the stars in a spectacular setting and free of charge. There are firework displays, artists’ evenings and a weekly on-site market. For younger people, from toddlers upwards there is a full programme of events (or “animations” as they call them), ranging from discos to football and swimming tournaments. You could stay on site for the whole holiday and always find plenty to do – though if you didn’t venture out you’d miss some of the remarkable delights the area has to offer.
And in a country famous for its ice-cream, the ice-cream on sale here, made on site, tops anything we’ve ever tasted. The range of flavours is beyond belief. It’s enough to say that during a fortnight stay you’d have to have several ice-creams a day to get through them all! Just for the record, my own favourites are Nocciola (hazelnut) and Pear And Cinnamon – my mouth waters as I type this!
Where is it?
Union Lido lies on the Littorale del Cavallino, a narrow strip of land forming part of the edge of the Venetian Lagoon. At its northern end is the resort of Lido di Jesolo, while to its south-west, just a few miles away, lies the wonderful city of Venice. The area is notable for its wildlife, its history dating back to Roman times and its agriculture. It has been tastefully developed with the tourist in mind without spoiling its character. There are cycle tracks that allow you to ride in safety all along the edge of the lagoon, where the quiet stillness casts its spell and makes you forget the problems you may have left back home. If Union Lido wears the crown among camping sites, the jewel in its crown, as far as we’re concerned, is Bolero, a British family-run tour operator, which has its own area on Union Lido in a prime location in the centre of the complex, within easy reach of all amenities. We have been coming to Union Lido with Bolero for many years, both with and, later, without our children. It says a lot about this company that every year we encounter many people we’ve met here before. All agree that the quality of service they get from Bolero is so high that going anywhere else would probably be a disappointment.
Accommodation is provided in either a caravan with a spacious awning or a mobile home. Cooking facilities are provided in both, though there is no oven. A microwave can be hired for a small fee. We’ve stayed in both types of accommodation and nowadays opt for the mobile home, largely because we like to come out in May, which can be quite cold at night in the first couple of weeks and the mobile home’s air conditioning has a heating option. There is plenty of space (a mobile home sleeps five with ease and six at a push) with two bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen/living-area, a spacious bathroom and a high-pressure shower that delivers a massage. Each mobile has its own veranda with table and chairs beneath an awning, so you can sit outdoors in the evening and enjoy a cold beer.
What makes Bolero so good is the attention to detail. The managing director and his wife, John and Margaret Robinson, spend a good part of each season onsite, making sure that everything is done to give the best possible service, a task they take very seriously. Any problems are sorted out immediately without fuss – and the only problems we’ve ever encountered are minor ones anyway, such as a faulty toilet cistern. And they’re always open to suggestions for improvements. All their on-site staff are friendly and helpful and take the trouble to get to know their guests, though not in any intrusive sense. After all the years we’ve been coming (since 1997), it’s very much a home-from-home.
Bolero hires out bikes by the fortnight, the day or even just the afternoon and as I said above, the whole area is geared to the cyclist – only rarely do you need to use the roads and in general the roads without cycle paths are fairly quiet and safe. That said, it only takes one reckless driver, so stay vigilant…!
Prices for holidays with Bolero are remarkably good – we’ve done our own detective work and compared their prices with other companies running sites on Union Lido. Consequently we come out for four weeks every year, at a cost that would probably get us only a fortnight with another operator. Rather than quote prices here, which are obviously subject to change year by year, I’ll refer you to Bolero’s website – just type “Bolero Holidays” into Google and you’ll find them easily. It’s also good to know that the whole pricing system is kept simple, so it’s easy to work out what you’ll pay. Prices are per accommodation rather than per person so a family of five can stay for the same price as a couple.
Getting There
Transport is not factored into Bolero’s pricing. You can travel to Union Lido by car, by plane via Venice’s Marco Polo airport or by train from Paris (Bercy station into Venice – right on the edge of the Grand Canal!). We chose an overnight sleeper train from Paris, partly because I can’t stand flying but also for the experience in itself – travelling across the lagoon by train in the early morning is magic!
Getting from the airport is simple and cheap: a bus to Lido di Jesolo, then change for the no.5 bus (to Punta Sabbioni) and ask to be let off at Union Lido, fifteen minutes or so down the road, just past the town of Cavallino. If you’re coming by train, from the railway station you take a no.2 water-bus (“vaporetto”) to San Zaccharia – a wonderful experience in itself – then take the ferry to Punta Sabbioni, on the mainland and pick up a no.5 bus to Union Lido. If, however, you’re arriving by car, don’t ask me –use a satnav!
Venice
Someone once said “See Venice and die.” (I don’t think that quote has anything to do with the Mafia.) The idea, I guess, is that when you’ve seen Venice you’ve seen the very best the world has to offer and can you pop off quietly and happily. But of course, no holiday is long enough to experience all of Venice, which is another reason we keep coming back – and we still have a lot more of it to see before we allow the Grim Reaper to lead us away. From Union Lido you can buy a ticket for around sixteen euros that takes you from the campsite to Venice, including the bus and the ferry, both ways. Or for a little more (about 22 euros) you can get a runabout ticket for a day that enables you to use the water-buses and the ferries to the islands – and little Burano has a magic of its own. Either way, coming in towards St Mark’s (San Marco) for the first time (or even the twenty-first) is one of life’s great experiences, beyond compare and one you could never set a price on. I shall say no more about Venice, except to say that if you’ve never seen it, you’re not yet ready to die.
What’s The Catch?
Why does there always have to be a catch? For many people, including ourselves, Bolero and Union Lido offer an unbeatable combination, while the close proximity of Venice makes the whole package irresistible.
However, the truth is that any earthly paradise is going to have its flaws and the main ones here are mosquitoes and sunburn. But, of course, that’s not just Union Lido, that’s the whole Mediterranean area. If you take the proper precautions you won’t have any bother. Just visit Boots or your local pharmacy before you leave home.
Any other catch? If there is, we haven't yet found it…

I went to this campsite with my husband and 2 children aged 6 and 9 i went with Bolero Holidays and we all had a wonderful time weather was perfect....The pools at Union Lido were so much fun for the children very entertaining keeping my children amused from 10am till 7pm they did get slightly overcrowed they are needing to get some more sunbeds round the pools as they only have afew too many people are fighting for them.... My family and myself are returning next year as the politeness from all the members of union lido staff was very good and made us feel very welcome the cleanliness of the campsite was wonderful seeing workers out at 7am cleaning the paths every morning... Also the ice cream was out of this world my children tried there best to try every flavour which belief me is alot so smooth and soft and so tasty Best Campsite i have visited by far and i have been to alot in europe...............

New W10 Building at Union Lido Opened!

Latest 2010: W10 Leisure Building at Union Lido
The W10 building was opened this past week at Union Lido. The new eco-friendly sanitary block is the first of its kind in Europe and will no doubt set the benchmark once again for on-site park facilities. We received new photographs from the park, taken over the weekend (14th / 15th May) and as you can see, this new block is both aesthetically pleasing and extremely functional and interactive. Nearing completion is the new exciting water slide at the Aqua Park Laguna swimming pool complex at the Union Lido holiday park in Italy. As you can see from the photographs below, it's going to be a twisty splashing good ride! Those taking children out to Italy for the May bank holidays will find the slide up and running, or should we say sliding? Have a look at the pictures and start getting your children and grandchildren excited!
