Getting To Venice
From Union Lido, getting to Venice could not be simpler. You can purchase a return ticket from the Union Lido information office, jump on the bus almost directly outside the campsite and from there you are taken down to the water port at Punta Sabbioni. From there you hop onto the water taxi and before you know it, your setting foot on the magnificent bridges of Venice, visiting St Marks Square to feed the pigeons or enjoying a coffee as the Venetian's do best.

With the lanterns lit, shops aglow and the sky above clear and starry, you will find your inner romantic as you stroll along the streets. Venice is a beautiful city by day and a magical city by night. A poem by John Hay said "Love, in this summer night, do you recall Midnight, and Venice, and those skies of June Thick-sown with stars, when from the still lagoon We glided noiseless through the dim canal?"
Venice offers a connection between people, young lovers and old. We invite you to enjoy this romantic experience first hand. Whether it be a weekend break or a mini break through the week, Venice is a wonderful attraction.
Flights To Italy
Bolero has always been happy to help people when it comes to making the right choices for getting out to Italy. The accommodation part is easy, we own that but the travel comes down to the respective company you book with so we are here to help make that a smooth transition. Many low cost airlines travel to Italy and the two airports we can help with are Marco Polo airport and Treviso airport. Marco Polo airport is slightly closer to Union LIdo than Treviso and can affect transport costs to and from Union Lido.
We can help with public transport or taxi's to allieviate any concerns about that but for now, use this program to highlight which UK airport suits you best. From there, you can click on search to be taken to a webpage that allows you to see the projected costs for the coming months. Choose one and from there you can hightlight dates and times and get proper costings for your intended arrival / departure dates.
Airport Transfers & Public Transport in Italy
Taxi Bolero is happy to help you in anyway we can when looking at how to get the from the airport at either Marco Polo or Treviso to Union Lido the most efficient and comfortable way possible. We recommend using the taxi company we have been friends with now for over 4 years.
We can reserve a taxi to pick you up from the respective airport and transport you safely to Union Lido within approximately 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes. This service has been used by hundreds of Bolero holidaymakers over the past years and is considered an easy transition from airport to site.
Your welcome to drop us an email for more information about this.

The public coach company around the Venice Lagoons is the ATVO bus service and throughout the past few years, Bolero customers have been using it as an alternative and finding the system very confident. You can take the bus from the airport either directly to the bus stop outside Union Lido during main season or you can take a bus from the airport to Lido de Jesolo and from there you can hop on another bus bound for Punta Sabbioni and alight at Union LIdo. This service runs well through the day so try to plan a daytime flight to link in with the transport companies schedules. You can view the Marco Polo schedule and the Treviso schedule respectively.
If you book a Ryanair flight, you will find that the coaches link in automatically with the arriving flight. The journey time from either Marco Polo or Treviso is dependent on the arrival. The normal length of time from boarding the bus at the airport to alighting at Union Lido is between 2 - 3 hours.

The Alilaguna water bus service operates from Marco Polo airport and you can buy ticket at the departure point to Union Lido. You board the water ferry to Venice, change your destination to Punta Sabbioni in Venice and then take the bus from Punta Sabbioni up to Union Lido. All this can take around 2-3 hours depending on connections and costs around 15 euros. Check out the Alilaguna website for more information.
