Union Lido humourA Sand Mermaid was uncovered on the private beach at Union Lido in May. The mermaid stretching 10ft in length with a large flipper for feet and fin like arms became the talk of Union Lido. Historians believe she dates back to the age of the Dinosaur and was washed ashore when the oceans froze. They also say she buried herself in the sand to escape the cold and went into hibernation. The "Let our mermaid go" campaign from Lido de Jesolo (Local town) has petitioned to have her returned to the sea in a pea green boat.
