Along the seafront you'll find a selection of bars, cafes and restaurants serving local and national dishes as well as pizza and other continental favourites. Being so close to the rice fields of the Ebro delta, paella is always a popular dish.
L'Ampolla is the offspring of the beautiful Mediterranean Sea and the lively River Ebro. Currents of sea and river, playing with the sand and waves, formed a huge lake, which eventually took the shape of a 'bottle' (Ampolla in Catalan); a name that was then given to the small fishing village that sprang up close to the mouth of this river.

L'Ampolla like many Spanish towns is very proud of it's heritage and celebrates this throughout the year.
The 'Oyster of Delta' is a huge celebration in May where people flock from the locale to sample the delightful Oysters L'Ampolla offer. Cava flows freely and people 'shuck' the oysters so quickly that around 2500 kilos of Oysters are used. The best part, it's really cheap! The freshness of a Spanish Oyster without the hefty restaurant price tag!
